Only 1 in 10 senior PM job ads in Europe show a salary. Here is what they say

Of 257 open PM roles at top-paying companies, 24 publish a pay range. What those ranges show by level and country, and why one company pays the same role 34% less in Sweden than in Ireland.

Of the 257 product management roles we track at top-paying companies in Europe, 24 publish a salary range. That is about 9%. The other 91% leave you to find out in the first recruiter call.

The ads that do publish a range tell you a lot, as long as you read them carefully.

What the published ranges look like

Below are the roles with a single location, so the range clearly applies to that place. All figures are base salary as published, before equity and bonus.

Three things stand out.

In London, Lead and Principal roles cluster at £120–155k base. Wise, Monzo and Affirm land in the same band, with Affirm's Staff role reaching higher. Equity comes on top and is often a large share of total pay at this level.

On the continent, Senior ranges are wide. n8n's Senior PM range runs from €90k to €152k. A range that wide usually covers more than one internal level, so where you land depends on how the interview places you.

A top-paying company does not mean every role pays €100k. Twilio's mid-level role in Estonia is €47–58k. Companies with high pay at senior level still pay local market rates lower down and in lower-cost countries. That is why we set our bar at company level for senior PMs and show the published range whenever there is one.

Same role, seven countries, seven prices

Grafana Labs is hiring a Staff Product Manager for OpenTelemetry and posted the same role in seven countries on the same day, each with its own range. Converted to euros at the ECB rate of 2 October 2026:

Every range has the same shape: the top is exactly 20% above the bottom. The pay band is clearly set by a formula per country, not negotiated per hire.

Sweden is the outlier. Measured in euros, the same role pays a third less than in Ireland and less than in Spain. If you are remote and could be employed in more than one country, the country on your contract can matter more than your negotiation.

What this means if you are job hunting

  • If an ad shows a range, treat the midpoint as the realistic target for a strong candidate at that level.
  • If it doesn't, ask for the range in the first call. Companies that publish ranges elsewhere usually have one internally.
  • For remote roles, ask which countries they can employ you in, and compare the bands.

We show the published range on every role that has one. Browse the open roles or read where the €100k+ PM jobs are.
